Over the holiday break, I taught at the Diligence and Delight Center in Beijing, China. The course I led was kinetic sculpture for grades 3 and 4. Here is the video I made of the course if you are interested in viewing.
Our timeline for the second round of clusters indicate that they begin on the 16th of January.
To note: Gifted and talented groups in grades 3, 4, and 5, Project GLOW groups in grades 1 and 2, and Talent Development/ Talent Development EL will now meet in the EC/media center.

Invention Convention: 4th grade GT and any other interested students
2. Read this syllabus and the timeline
3. Review Invention Log
4. Work on the following:
- Invention Logs: Students can begin working on their invention logs, make sure you write the dates of when steps were actually completed rather than today’s date.
- Research online how to build certain parts of their invention, how much materials needed might cost, or examples of display boards for ideas.
5. Consider and respond toquestions that judges will ask (how did you find the problem, how did you find the solution, how did you design it, what problems did you face, how might you change it to make it even better, if you made it in a factory what would be different).
For all:
